We invite you to join the 9th conference of the European Society for Periodical Research about Periodical Formats in the Market: Economies of Space & Time, Competition & Transfer. The event is organized by the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, and will be held online.
Among the dozens of exciting pre-recorded presentations related to the field of periodical research, you can find our colleague, Gábor Dobó’s contribution as well. Gábor holds a presentation entitled Capitalism and Radical Imagination in Avant-Garde periodicals. In his talk he covers the perception of capitalism in 1920s avant-garde periodicals, predominantly from the Central and Eastern European scene, rather than the already well-known Western Functionalisms. He will examine the following: What kind of political economy was envisioned in these magazines? How were they related to the aesthetic practices and theories of their editors, to their own role in the actual cultural ecosystem, and to the position of their journals in the periodical press market?
Please register on the conference website, then you will be able to see all pre-recorded presentations, comment and participate in the live sessions. To sign up, create a profile by clicking on Log In. After registration, you will receive an email to inform you, that our admins will activate your account as soon as possible: https://esprit2021.blogs.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/

In phase 1 (1-13 June 2021) you will have the opportunity to watch and comment on the pre-recorded papers of the panels and prepared posters of the postgraduate workshop at your leisure. The comments help to prepare the live Q&A sessions in phase 2.
